Awesome graf truck -- one of the best we've ever seen in this downtown neighborhood in the past year or so. Ivan Corsa Photo Photo gear: Canon PowerShot SD 630 ELPH digital camera April 23, 2007"Fact" Truck Graf in Midtown, NYC No. 3

Here's one of those ubiquitous New York City Chinatown trucks tagged with graf, in this case with "Smack." Ivan Corsa Photo February 15, 2006Uptown Graf Truck No. 3

Graf is pretty rare on the posh and anodyne Upper East Side of Manhattan, a district that is home to some of the most expensive real estate in the America, if not the world. (That is, it's pretty rare below East 96th Street and Spanish Harlem. ) But one way graf appears in famed U.E.S. nabes like Yorkville and Carnegie Hill is when "bombed" delivery trucks arrive. Here's one in the process of unloading produce at a local deli. Ivan Corsa Photo January 08, 2006"Waystr" Graf on Lower East Side Truck
"Waystr" appears on at least three or four different trucks that operate out of Chinatown and the Lower East Side of downtown Manhattan. In each case, "Waystr" is rendered in different colors. Here the writer has upped his massive tag in blue and white hues. Look for it when your in New York City. Ivan Corsa Photo December 22, 2005Best Soho Graf Truck Ever
Well ... okay, maybe not the best forever-ever, ever-ever, ever-ever ... but close. This truck, which is often parked near a flea market in Soho in New York City, is one of our all-time favorite examples of graf-on-vehicle aeresol art. And it's certainly one of the most colorful in all of lower Manhattan. We haven't seen this truck in a while, so we suspect it may have been painted over already. If so, it's a damn shame. Then again, the ephemeral quality of street art -- that it gets covered over, dispappears, fades, and so on -- that is part of its beauty. Ivan Corsa Photo November 22, 2005Superfeen by ESPO, NYC #1
Here's the side of the "Superfeen" truck by ESPO in Soho. This panel reads "Go Superfeen Go!" Note the superhero Superfeen's key qualities noted at the sides: "He's not for truth and justice" and "He's for the American Way." "Superfeen" is the latest brilliant installment of graf-cum-street art by the renowned New York artist ESPO on this always-parked Soho truck. The back of the truck is a panel dubbed "Caffeine and Nicotine," wherein an anti-superhero takes a coffee and smoke break. Unfortunately, we weren't carrying the heavier-duty Nikon digital camera that's usually in our bag, so we had to make do with our Treo 650 camera phone, and thus image resolution quality is a bit wanting. Visual irony at street level: a wheat-paste paper cut-out of a van covered in graf tags. We love it. This piece of street art was found in the East Village. Wouldn't this image be cool as a graphic tee shirt? We could see someone like Nigo / A Bathing Ape or maybe Zoo York using this kind of imagery in clothing design. Ivan Corsa Photo May 22, 2005"Fred" Up on Truck, Spring Street, SoHo
This truck is the bizzomb!!! Or rather, the graf makes this truck the bizzomb. You can always find this truck parked in SoHo near the intersection of Spring and Greene streets. The "Fred" in this art work is is the Fred Rogers of Mister Roger's Neighborhood fame. Everytime we see this truck, which is almost every day, we smile on the inside (and sometimes on the outside, too). The graf is a work of art and the quality speaks for itself. Ivan Corsa Photo April 02, 2005Truck Graf by "Gano" - Chinatown, New York City
Walking along Prince Street in SoHo, past the the cast-iron lofts buildings, this past Wednesday evening, we spotted a major up by Gano on a truck. We've seen Gano's graf only on trucks, never on a building, and given that we've seen his moniker at least half a dozen trucks, Gano is prolific in exploring the truck medium. Ivan Corsa Photo March 26, 2005NYC Graf - "Core" in Chinatown
A nice close-up of an up on the side of a truck in Chinatown. Mid-sized freight trucks are everywhere in lower Manhattan, but especially in Chinatown. Most of these vehicles are white and as such are a tempting canvas waiting to be filled by aspiring artists and writers. The mobility of the trucks gives the author's tag greater exposure to a wider geographic audience as the trucks ferry cargo around the New York City and tri-state area. Ivan Corsa Photo June 24, 2004Graffiti to Go
Graffiti taggers and artists have been putting Krylon to all sorts of vehicles all over New York City for years. But for some reason these ubiquitous delivery trucks in Chinatown seem to get "bombed" the most. This vehicle, parked on the Bowery near East Broadway, sports a large, colorful "throw-up" by "Wasier" (or is it "Wasieir," with a second, small "i"), as well as several other small tags. After a while, you start to recognize some variations of the same tags on other trucks and see the same trucks again as they travel to and from the hundreds of small factories and warehouses in Chinatown.
