Video: Viva Espana! Team of Graf Artists at Work on a Wall in Granada, Spain

This video clip show some street artitsts and graf writers working a massive stretch of pristine wall space along a roadway in Granada, Spain. This is some of the best and most stylistic quality graf and street art we've ever seen in Europe. Totally first-rate.

Video: Excellent Clip of Tiki at Work in NYC

We've been coming across a lot of fresh work by Tiki in New York City recently, some of which has been documented here on Global Graphica in the past few weeks. Above is an awesome clip of the artist at work on the streets of NYC, painting and stenciling his signature Easter Island statue icons on walls and rollups. Included in the video is a segment showing Tiki stenciling at the 11 Spring Street building -- a kind of unofficial shirne to street art -- in the Nolita / SoHo neighborhood in downtown New York.

Swoon Woman Paste-Up in Chelsea, NYC

We spent a recent Saturday doing the Chelsea contemporary art circuit, hopping from one gallery to another, when we cae across some fresh work by the Brooklyn-based wheat-paste artist Swoon. The women depicted here seems to have a Native American look. Swoon is our favorite New York street artist.

Detail: Billboard Backside Graf, SoHo

This close-up shot allows a better view of the tag detail, but it's still a bit difficult to interpret the lettering. (We don't recognize the tag.) Still, to see a writer get his moniker up high into the city skyline like this is amusing and must make for an interesting visual landmark on the SoHo cityscape for those who live and work within view from the high-rent lofts apartments and advertising agencies nearby.

Billboard Backside Graf on 6th Avenue, SoHo

Putting your moniker up on the back of one of these stand-alone billboards takes real guts. Not only is it physically dangerous, but the chance of getting caught or stuck presents quite a risk to even the most adventurous writers. We found this billboard graf on 6th Avenue, a few blocks north of Canal Street in SoHo, in New York City.

Video: Lots of Tags Along Train Route in Holland

This short video clip shows tons of graf that can be seen while riding a train somewhere in the Netherlands. In the 1970's kids on the South Bronx were doing this on the New York and subway system. Thirty years later, the street culture of graf-writing kids in NYC can be found in Western European cities. The globalization of hip-hop, youth culture and style.

"Hi Lara" by Faro in Chelsea, NYC

This piece of spray-can street art in the gentrified Chelsea gallery district appears to be the work of Faro Inc., whose signature mummy paste-ups can be found throughout lower Manhattan. The mummy bust painted here has a speech bubble that says "Hi, Lara." Cheeky.

Wide Shot: "Hi Lara" by Faro in Chelsea, NYC

In the far West 20's of New York nabe Chelsea, an area filled with dozens of massive art galleries, we found a large spray-painted mummy bust by -- we presume -- the artist who goes by the moniker Faro Inc.

Tribal Mural on Thompson Street, SoHo, New York

This new black-and-white mural on Thompson Street in SoHo, in downtown New York City, is painted in a pattern that reminiscent of the kind of tribal tattoo popular in the late 1990's The section of wall used to be a nondescript stretch of brick covered with a lame, unfinished tags that kept getting painted over and then cropping up again. The wall looksgreat with this massive mural work, but we would have preferred that the space was devoted to something artistically bolder, more original. Still, we're happy to see this kind of creative use of space on chic Thompson Street, now home two high-priced condo conversions, fashionable real-estate, celebrities, expensive restaurants, boutique hotels and small luxury stores.

Bucktoothed, Rabbit-Eared Whatchamacalit Paste-Up, New York

Here's a fresh wheat paste-up we found a few days ago on the building at 11 Spring Street in Nolita. We see what appears to be a pair of eyeballs, some whiskers, buck teeth and rabbit-like ears. But what is it exactly? The illustration looks like a deformed cartoon character. Whatever it is, we like it. And we like the green-and-yellow brushed paint flourish. There are few of these paste-ups around downtown as of late. Always nice to see fresh work and imagery on the streets of lower Manhattan.
