The London Police Calling

These smiley characters are by the artist called "The London Police." According to Tristan Manco in his excellent book "Street Logos," The London Police is actually a trio of artists, an American artist named Garrett and a pair of Brits named Bob and Chaz. A lot the group's street work can be found in London, as their moniker suggests, and elsewhere in the UK, as well as in Amsterdam (where the trio formed) and New York City. The work pictured here was put up on Crosby Street, in SoHo, NYC.
